Giving

Money has created a lot of confusion in our culture. Some look to it for pleasure, some look to it for security. But Scripture teaches us that money is meant to be a picture of God's grace. We have a generous God who has given beyond our imagination. And He has entrusted us with time, talents, and treasures intended to be a tangible picture of His grace in the lives of others.

It is our desire as a church to see all tithes and offerings used as effeciently and effectively as possible.  2 Corinthians 8 the Apostle Paul said, "Taking precaution so that no one will discredit us in our administration of this generous gift; 21 for we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men." It is with these truths in mind that we have set up some structure when it comes to the generous gifts of North Village Church:

- The pastors of North Village Church do not handle any of the finances.

- The pastors of North Village Church do not know how much people give.

- When the pastors do spend money there is accountability and documentation.

- There is a seperate team of people who collect and count money on Sunday mornings.

- The elders of the church prayerfully create a budget each year.  That budget will be presented to the church.

- We also have a team outside of our church who looks at our budget to give insight and wisdom each year.

- We also pay someone to oversee our financial team to make sure there is accountability and it is done accurately.

In addition, there are two messages from a series called "Treasure" to learn about about money from a biblical perspective:

Treasure:  2 Corinthians 8

Treasure:  2 Corinthians 9
